Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and magnifying glass.
- You can borrow these from the welcome hut in the car park. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: an off-road/all-terrain mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Gardens)
- Exit the car park to the left and follow the path ahead.
At the fork turn left and continue ahead.
The courtyard entrance will be ahead. Continue past this entrance.
The garden entrance is at the rear left corner of the courtyard. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel and cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the rear left of the courtyard.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 88cm.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, block paving and gravel.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
