Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, binoculars, magnifying glass, activity sheets, soft toy, communication cards, accessible maps and sensory maps.

Hikes and Trails

  • The trail is approximately 1.25 miles long.
  • Turn right out of the welcome hut and go up the track, following the orange coloured signs around the estate.
    Turn left at the cow shed followed almost immediately by a right turn.
    At the brow of the hill take the gate on the right, and continue along the edge of this field until you get to the bottom.
    Go through another gate, follow this path to a further gate that leads onto a road.
    Turn right along the road and then take the first left towards a bridge.
    Cross the bridge until you come to a private driveway then take the bridleway opposite.
    Take the right fork to continue over a footbridge, turn left and continue along the path with the River Hayle on the left.
    At the end of this path turn right up a lane to reach a parking area beside the road.
    Turn left on this road until you see the sign into Godolphin, turn right up the track and follow path back to the welcome hut.
  • The trail is not open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, grass and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients.
  • These are found in the following areas: across the field after the first gate.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has handheld maps.
  • The route travels through areas which are busy with traffic.
  • Seating is not available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
