  • View information about opening hours.
  • The most accessible entrance has a slight ramp/slope.
  • Staff/volunteers can describe the layout and access around the site.
  • The following are also available: seating, maps, mountain trikes, sensory packs, a large map in the car park and an information board in the car park.

  • Tracker packs are available to use around the grounds.
    Tracker packs are available from the visitors reception for the house.
    The packs contain a selection of items such as a bag, torch, magnifying glass and a bird and bug spotting sheet.
  • This site is not part of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.

Route to (the Grounds)

  • There are various access points to the grounds and trails.
    There are gates to access some parts of the grounds.
    All areas are well signposted.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located around the grounds.
  • Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland, woodland, farmland and open countryside.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, grass and compact earth.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
  • Along the trails.
  • There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
  • The paths have easy open gates which may create obstacles for some users.

Hikes and Trails

  • The trail is approximately 1.5 miles.
  • The Victory V Walk starts behind the Visitor Reception in the car park and goes through parkland and woodland.
    The route is a circular route finishing at the house.
    The route takes in the den building area and the ice house.
    There are a few gates to go through along the route.
  • The hike is not open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass and compacted gravel.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has information boards with large maps and handheld maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
