Hikes and Trails (Smithy Beck Trail)

  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, gravel and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients.
  • These are found in the following areas: at roadway along Ennerdale Water.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has information boards with large maps and online maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
  • There is bench seating at the beginning of the trail, opposite Bowness Knott car park.
    The forested section of this trail was closed at the time of survey (June 2024).
