The most accessible entrance has step-free level access and a gate.
This entrance is the south garden gate.
There is not a member of staff available for help and assistance.

This site is not part of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.

You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, accessible maps and sensory maps.

From the visitor reception exit, head up the main path to the right.
At the Discovery Cabin, take the lower path to the left.
Along this path, the entrance to the Rock Garden is on the right, followed by the Wildflower Meadow on the left.
The entrance to the South Garden is ahead.
The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
The visitor shuttle can take people to the top of the main steep slope (to the Discovery Cabin), but not all the way to the gardens.

Access into the area is via a step.
There is 1 step, which is unmarked, with no handrails.
There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens away from you (push).
The gate is not self-closing.

The route from the pool to the second access point (from the North Garden Path) has steep slopes and multiple steps.

The Rock Garden can also be accessed via a gate from the North Garden path.
