Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, activity sheets, soft toy and communication cards.
  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
  • Adult and child sensory packs are available.

Route to (Formal Garden)

  • Exit the car park at the front.
    Continue along the path and follow it round to the left.
    Go through the shop and exit towards the hall.
    Turn left at the hall and follow the path around to the right that leads to the formal garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces (Formal Garden)

  • This information is for the access point located on the left side of the house.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • The access points to the area are located around to the rear of the hall.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
