Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, activity sheets, soft toy and communication cards.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- Adult and child sensory packs are available.
Route to (Craft Area)
- Exit the car park at the front.
Follow the path ahead and then to the left.
Go through the shop and on exiting turn left and follow the path on the left in front of the hall.
Follow the path around to the right towards the formal gardens and the entrance to the craft area is on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and includes up to 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Event Space (Craft Area)
- Access into the activity area is via steps.
- There are 3 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 85cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- There is step-free level access around the space.
- All flooring in the area is smooth and even.
- Some of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are bench seats and chairs without armrests available in the space.
