Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, activity sheets, soft toy and communication cards.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- Adult and child sensory packs are available.
Route to (Airedale Barn)
- Exit the car park at the front.
Continue ahead and the Airedale Barn is towards the end of the path, on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.
Event Space
- There is step-free level access into the activity area.
- The door is manual, opens both ways and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 178cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is step-free level access around the space.
- All flooring in the area is smooth and even.
- Lighting levels are low.
- There are tables and chairs without armrests available in the space.
- The standard height for the underside of dining tables is 73cm.
- The layout of this space, and available furniture, varies depending on the event taking place.
