Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, activity sheets, soft toy and communication cards.
  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
  • Adult and child sensory packs are available.

Route to (Airedale Barn)

  • Exit the car park at the front.
    Continue ahead and the Airedale Barn is towards the end of the path, on the right.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.

Event Space

  • There is step-free level access into the activity area.
  • The door is manual, opens both ways and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the door opening is 178cm.
  • Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
  • There is step-free level access around the space.
  • All flooring in the area is smooth and even.
  • Lighting levels are low.
  • There are tables and chairs without armrests available in the space.
  • The standard height for the underside of dining tables is 73cm.
  • The layout of this space, and available furniture, varies depending on the event taking place.
  • The space has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
  • The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
