Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the shop and 17th Century Stables)
- Go up the hill from the visitor reception. Turn right, the shop and 17th century stables will be ahead on the left.
- The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Entrance (Shop and 17th Century Stables)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 102cm.
Shop
- There is step-free level access into the shop.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 102cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The majority of aisle widths are under 150cm.
- Flooring in the shop is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
- There is step-free level access around the shop.
- There is background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 88cm.
- There is a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter is placed in front of a patterned background, has windows, TVs and glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.

Toilet with Adaptations (next to the Shop and 17th Century Stables - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located on the right of the shop and 17th century stables.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- This toilet is approximately 20m from the shop entrance.
- There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 84cm.
- The door has a sliding bolt lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 150cm x 200cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 94cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a lever flush on the transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.

- There is 1 step, which is clearly marked, with a handrail on the right going up.
- There is an opening without doors .
- The width of the opening is 84cm.
- If accessing this facility from the right there would be a steep slope.
Standard Toilet (Male)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 80cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 65cm.
- The wash basin tap type is sensor.
- Lighting levels are bright.
- There are hand dryers.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
Entrance (Female Standard Toilet - next to the Shop and 17th Century Stables)
- The entrance surveyed is located next to the shop and 17th century stables building.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- The slight slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- All of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 84cm.
- There are 10+ steps beyond the entrance, which have some clear markings, with handrails on both sides.
- The handrails cover all steps.
Standard Toilet (Female)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 86cm.
