Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, magnifying glass, activity sheets and communication cards.

  • You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Park and Dingle)

  • After exiting visitor reception follow the outside of the building until you see an open field, a fence and a gate.
    The gate is the access point for the Park and Dingle area.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located opposite the visitor reception building.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is an easy open gate at the surveyed access point which opens away from you (push).
  • The gate is not self-closing.
  • The width of the gap is 156cm.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland, woodland and open countryside.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, gravel, compact earth and wood.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no step-free level access around the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
