Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (The Level Tour)

  • Leave visitor reception via the exit and head left across the mine yard for approximately 45 meters to reach the start of the tour.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Tour

  • The tour is guided.
  • The tour takes approximately 30 minutes.
  • There is step-free level access throughout the tour.
  • The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise along the tour route.
  • The tour does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There are no seats at regular intervals along the tour.
  • Flooring along the tour route is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
  • Lighting levels are low throughout the tour route.
  • This tour runs once daily at 3.30pm and should be booked in advance.
