Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- Equipment cannot be borrowed or hired.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Parkland)
- Turn left out of the main car park and follow the gradual slope upwards for approximately 70 metres.
Pass Newton House on left and go through a gate.
After the house there the slope turns steep for a section before you reach a fork in the path. You can either turn right just before the fork or carry on straight ahead for the parkland area. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- Access into the area is via steep ramps/slopes.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- The access points to the area are located to the left as you exit the car park and then straight ahead past Newton House.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, loose chippings, grass and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are steep slopes throughout the area.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Hikes and Trails (Cattle Walk)
- The walk is approximately 1 mile long.
- Turn left out of the car park and follow the slope upwards on North Drive for approximately 70 metres.
You will pass through a gate then shortly after take a right turn.
The route up to this point is on a steeply sloped tarmac surface.
After turning right you will be on a gravel path heading downhill.
Once at the bottom of the hill you will join the tarmac road which is the entrance to Dinefwr by car. Follow this tarmac road, with no pedestrian footpath back up a long slight slope until you are back at the car park. - The walk is open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, grass, gravel and compacted gravel.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: throughout the walk.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are standard and accessible toilet facilities along the route.
- Standard and accessible facilities can be found at the start/end of the walk in the welcome hut.
