Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Gardens)
- From the Welcome Hut, follow the path to the car park.
Turn right at the end of the path and continue until you arrive at a gate on the right.
The gate is the entrance to the gardens. There is a steep slope along this route. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
- The car park is on a steep slope.
Steps (Alternative Route)
- There are 6 steps.
- The steps are not clearly marked but there is a handrail on the right going up.
- These steps lead into the garden from the Welcome Hut.
There is an alternative, accessible access point via a steep slope to the gardens via the car park.
Outdoor Spaces (Gardens)
- This information is for the access point located at the gated entrance via the car park.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The gate has a padlock.
- The width of the gap is 89cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings, wood bark, grass and block paving.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails, less than 3 steps without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
