- Obstacles from the car park include: uneven surfaces, a lack of pedestrian walkways to cross the car park and bollards with low colour contrast and no visual identification band.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Visitor Reception
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 103cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) within the majority of the area.
- All flooring is smooth and even.
- Some of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 100cm.
- There is a low level section at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.

Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located to the rear of the visitor reception.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 62cm.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 62cm.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 66cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass.
