Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, magnifying glass and activity sheets.
- You can borrow these from the shop, business support or the house. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (Lady's Walk)
- Lady's Walk can be accessed from the front of the visitor centre by the lake and can be walked clockwise or anti-clockwise around the lake.
- The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and wood.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located in front of the visitor centre.
- Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes and steep ramps/slopes.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland and woodland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, loose chippings, grass, compact earth and wood.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight and steep slopes throughout.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Hikes and Trails (Lady's Walk)
- The walk is approximately 1 mile long.
- Lady's Walk goes around the lake in front of the visitor centre. The route can be walked clockwise or anti-clockwise.
- The hike is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, loose chippings, grass and wood.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: on the right side of the lake.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
