Entrance (Visitor Reception)

    • The soap dispenser is 93cm from the floor.
    • The towel dispenser is 100cm from the floor.
    • The hand dryer is 100cm from the floor.
    • The facility has: a full length mirror, a waste bin with lid, a sanitary bin and a privacy screen.
    • There is a shelf located where it is reachable for seated and standing users.

  • There are double manual doors (with one door locked) which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 83cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.

Entrance (External Toilet Access)

  • The entrance surveyed is located on the car park side of the visitor reception building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 83cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
  • At the time of the survey, this door was not in use due to building work.

Toilet with Adaptations (Right Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located within the Visitor Reception.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 2m from the External Toilet Access entrance.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 85cm.
  • The door has a locking handle (with a RADAR key to access).
  • Internally the door has a high colour contrast.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 205cm x 200cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.
  • The lateral transfer space is 90cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a pull chain flush on the transfer side.

  • There is a baby change facility which is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.

Exit

  • The exit is located at the front of the building.
  • There is step-free level access at the exit.
  • There are double manual gates which opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 100cm.
  • There is a mat across the threshold which may pose as a potential trip hazard.

Picnic Area

  • The following information describes the picnic area located at the right hand side of the Visitor Reception.
  • Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are picnic tables.
  • No chairs have armrests on both sides.
  • Adapted picnic tables are not available.
  • The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 70cm.
  • The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and seating which is fixed to tables.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass.
