Hikes and Trails (Brown Walk)

  • The walk is approximately 4 miles long.
  • Starting from the access point near to Carpenters Yard car park, the circular trail descends on a slight decline and follows the edge of fields and small woods/copses.
    Pathways generally have a surface of grass and are level, although some uneven muddy spots may be found.
    There are occasional kissing gates on the route and the return pathway has a slight uphill gradient, returning to the original access gate.
  • The hike is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass, compacted gravel and mud.
  • Some of the route contains very uneven surfaces.
  • These are found in the following areas: at various points along the pathway, particularly where it is muddy.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has online maps.
  • Seating is not available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.

Entrance (The Guard House)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.

  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.

Attraction / Exhibit (The Guard House)
