Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from the welcome centre. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Walled Garden)
- Turn left out of the welcome centre and follow the path up a slight hill for approximately 8 metres.
Take the next left through the open gate into the walled garden. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located at the side of the walled garden.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and gravel.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails, less than 3 steps without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight and steep slopes throughout the area.
There are some steps in the bottom corner of the garden by the water feature, which can be overcome via a steep slope.
There are 3 steps in the top left corner of the walled garden leading to the gazebo. - There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
