Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Gallery)
- Exit the welcome centre, turn left and head up a slight slope for approximately 8 metres.
Turn right at the crossing and follow the steeply sloped path down for approximately 20 metres.
Take the next right and follow the level path for approximately 25 metres.
Passing the tearoom, you will then turn left where the steps to the gallery will be. - The route to the area is step-free level, is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the side of the building.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There are 10+ steps, which are clearly markedhandrails on both sides.
- The handrails do not cover all steps.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- There are 2 steps beyond the entrance, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
Shop
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- Some flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
- There is step-free level access around the shop.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 77cm.
- The counter does not have a hearing assistance system.
- Services/facilities available in the shop include: a portable card machine for payment and a member of staff to provide assistance.
