Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Bothy Tea Room)
- From the drop-off point walk straight ahead for approximately 20 metres and the nearest entrance to the drop off will be seen.
To get to the main entrance, you will continue with the building on your right for approximately another 8 metres, then the entrance will be on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance (Accessible - Via Drop-Off Point)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the right hand side of the building, close to the drop-off point.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 92cm.
- This entrance can be opened up upon request.
Entrance (Accessible - Via Information Room)
- The entrance surveyed is located inside the information room.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 79cm.
Entrance (Main)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There is 1 step, which is unmarkedno handrails.
- The step is not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 95cm.
- There are 3 steps beyond the entrance, which have some clear markings, with a handrail on the left going down.
- The handrail covers all steps.
- All of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
Eating and Drinking
- This is a tea room which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: handheld menus, written wall menus and menu boards.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups and a portable card machine for payment.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.

Toilet with Adaptations (Near Tearoom - Ambulant - Right Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located to the left of the main entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- This toilet is approximately 10m from the main entrance.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 86cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 132cm x 198cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.

- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 73cm.
- The wash basin tap type is twist/turn.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
