Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Lake)

  • From the visitor reception, enter via the opening to the right of the kiosk.
    The width of the opening is 79cm.
    Continue straight and the lake is located directly ahead.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are gravel and paving stones.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

  • The lake can also be accessed via the entrance gap to the left of the visitor reception, however staff recommend to take the route mentioned above. Access around the lake is step-free via slight to steep slopes.

Outdoor Spaces (Lake)

  • This information is for the access point located immediately ahead after the Visitor Reception.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland.
  • The outdoor facilities also include: a lake.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass, gravel, uncompacted earth and loose stones.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
  • There are a mixture of slight to steep slopes on the paths around the lake walk.
  • There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
