- The most accessible entrance has step-free level access and manual doors.
- This entrance is the main entrance to the left of the building.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Gardener's Bothy Café)
- From the visitor reception, continue straight ahead and the Gardener's Bothy Café is located on the right.
- The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front left of the café building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors (with one door locked) which open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 58cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- The door can be kept open upon request.

Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus and menu boards.
- Menus are not easy to read (unclear font with poorly contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery, takeaway cutlery, a portable card machine for payment, large-handled mugs and large-handled cutlery.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is background noise here.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- There is a counter over 85cm high with a tray rail.
- The counter is 92cm high.
- There is not a section of the counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- There is step-free level access around the seating area.
- There are tables, long tables, bench seats, a mixture of chairs with and without armrests and picnic tables available in the seating area.
- The seating area does not have: a priority table.
- Tables are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The surface height of the tables is 74cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: some of the chairs.
- Some flooring in the area is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
- Some of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
Outdoor Seating Areas (Gardener's Cafe Bothy Upper Decking)
- The following outdoor areas are available: decking.
- There is step-free level access to the outdoor seating area.
- Access to the outdoor seating area is via a slight ramp/slope (which bypasses any steps).
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going up.
- Facilities in this area include: seats with armrests, seats without armrests and a coffee table.
- The surface height of the table is 75cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre within the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
Exit
- The exit is located at the front right of the café building.
- There is step-free level access at the exit.
- There are double manual doors (with one door locked) which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 58cm.
