Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders and fidget toys.

Route to (Roman Villa)
- From the visitor centre take the exit opposite the toilets and follow the path around to the right. Then continue straight ahead and the Roman Villa is on the left.
- The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and metal.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located on the left side of the building.
- There is step-free access via lift at the entrance.
- There are 6 steps, which are unmarked, with a handrail on the right going up.
- The handrail covers all steps.
- Some of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 85cm.
- There is a lift which bypasses the steps.
Lift
- This lift is a platform lift.
- The lift overcomes a small level change.
- Externally the lift has: buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user, tactile markings and Braille markings.
- The lift does not have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 91cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 91cm x 134cm.
- Internally the lift has: a separate door to exit, controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user, Braille markings, tactile markings and buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings.
Tour
- The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.

Exit
