Summary

Route to (the Parkland)
- There is open access to the parkland from all areas of the site, but the green route is the most accessible.
- The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, tarmac and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces (Parkland)
- The access points to the area are located from the car park onwards in all directions.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground, parkland, woodland and gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings, grass, bonded gravel and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slopes of varying degrees throughout the parkland.

Playground
View
- There is a fenced play area with an entrance under 100cm wide.
- The gate may be difficult to open and does not have a high colour contrast with the fence.
- The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, rocking, climbing and balancing.
Hikes and Trails
- The trail is approximately 3.7 or 6.4 miles long.
- There are several trails throughout the parkland.
The tramway trail is suitable for the tramper but not for mobility scooters as there are steep and muddy areas along the route. - The trail is open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: loose chippings, grass, bonded gravel and mud.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients and very uneven surfaces.
- These are found in the following areas: throughout the route.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has information boards with large maps, handheld maps and online maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: cycles and electric cycles. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- There are charges to borrow the cycles and electric cycles.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: trampers. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
