Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair and cycles. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Orchards)
- Exit the visitor reception and follow the path around to the right.
Proceed through the gap and turn right into the Orchards. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located off the path from the visitor reception.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground, a grassed play area and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are various slight slopes while walking from one orchard to another.
There are also steep gradients in the play area. - There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have easy open gates which may create obstacles for some users.

- The gate is easy to open but does not have a high colour contrast with the fence.
- There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.

- The following play experiences are available: sliding, climbing and crawling.
Hikes and Trails (The Orchard Walk)
- The walk is approximately 1.5 miles long.
- From the orchards access point follow the winding pathways which take you through several named orchards.
- The hike is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: grass and gravel.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- The route has handheld maps and online maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
