You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
A wheeled walker is also available from the car park.

After exiting visitor reception, follow the level path round to the far end of Pin Mill, then descend the increasingly steep gravel slope down into the Arboretum.
The route to the area is step-free level, is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
Path surfaces along the route are gravel, grass and rubber matting.
The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
The access points to the area are located along the pathway between Pin Mill and the Dell.
The Arboretum can also be accessed from below Pin Mill in the Formal Garden via a series of steps and steep paths.
There is open access at the surveyed access point.

The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, gravel and compact earth.
Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.

There are more than 3 steps without handrails, slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
There are sloped paths and steps in many places throughout the area.
There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
