Route to (the Tea Room)

  • From the visitor centre, proceed through the gate and continue straight ahead for approximately 50m.
    Proceed up the steps to the right.
    There are 10 steps with a height of 16cm.
    Follow the pathway ahead to the tea room.
  • The route to the area includes more than 3 steps with a handrail.
  • Path surfaces along the route are gravel and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance (Tea Room)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
  • There is stepped access at the entrance.
  • The slight slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are 6 steps, which are unmarked, with a handrail on the right going up.
  • The handrail does not cover all steps.
  • Some of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
  • There is a single manual door which are permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 90cm.
  • There is a second set of manual doors (with one door locked) which opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 60cm.

Eating and Drinking

  • This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
  • There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
  • Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
  • Menu types include: menu boards.
  • Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).

Toilet with Adaptations (Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located straight ahead beyond the tea room entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 4m from the tea room entrance.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 74cm.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 150cm x 184cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 81cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the non transfer side.
