Access Guide
Admissions
- At this location the following are free to access for all visitors: the parkland when accessed from The Lion Gates on Belton Lane.
- At this location the following areas are free to access for National Trust members but payable for everyone else: parking and all other areas of the site.
- At this location the following areas require payment from everyone (including National Trust members): some special events, including the annual Christmas at Belton festival.
- This site offers companion or carer discounts.
Public Transport
- There is not a bus stop within approximately 150m of the site.
- Belton Hall Gates bus stop is just outside the gates to the site, however, the driveway gates are approximately 380 metres from the Visitor Reception Building.
Anyone arriving by bus or bike can collect a free hot drink voucher to use in the café as part of an initiative to promote green travel to the site, in association with Good Journey. - The nearest train station is Grantham.
- Grantham Station is approximately 3.2 miles from the Belton Estate, with regular buses to Belton Hall Gates bus stop.

Parking (Main Car Park)
- This site has a car park.
- This is an open air car park with a grass and compacted earth surface.
- Parking is free for all users.
- Maps and information boards are not available.
- There are no Blue Badge parking bays available.
- Obstacles from the car park include: loose chippings.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
- There are more than 10 electric vehicle charging points.
- The dimensions of the electric vehicle charging bay surveyed are 243cm x 477cm.
- There is no electric vehicle charging point designated for Blue Badge holders.
- An app is required for electric vehicle charging not designated for Blue Badge holders and Payment is via tap and pay (contactless payment).
- There is not a designated drop-off point.
Parking (Blue Badge Parking)
- This site has a car park.
- This is an open air car park with a loose chippings surface.
- Parking is free for Blue Badge holders only.
- Maps and information boards are available.
- There are more than 30 Blue Badge parking bays.
- The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) surveyed are 324cm x 631cm.
- The hatched zone is under 120cm wide.
- The nearest Blue Badge bay is 8m from the Visitor reception entrance.

- Blue Badge parking is available in front of, and behind, the Visitor Reception Building.
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and sunglasses.
- You can borrow these from the Visitor Reception Building. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: off-road/all-terrain mobility scooters and trampers. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- The accessible visitor shuttle bus operates from the rear of the Visitor Reception Building.
Visitor Reception
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- The door is automatic, opens by sliding and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 179cm.
- Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) within the majority of the area.
- All flooring is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 110cm.
- There is not a low level section at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter is placed in front of a patterned background.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- There are sofas and bench seats available in the visitor reception.
- Services/facilities available include: a portable card machine for payment and a member of staff to provide assistance.

- The ceiling height is at a minimum height of 2.4m and there is a clear 200cm x 180cm manoeuvring space in the facility.

Toilet Details

- There are lateral transfer spaces on both sides of the seat.
- The transfer space on the right as you face the toilet is 84cm.
- The transfer space on the left as you face the toilet is 268cm.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, vertical grab rails on both sides of the toilet and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, all grab rails, all dropdown rails, the floor and the toilet seat.
- The toilet seat is 48cm above the floor.
