The counter is at the rear of the shop, with one step between it and the entrance.
The Scullery Bookshop is on the ground floor of the house, with one step between the house entrance and the bookshop. - There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (Oast House Shop)
- From visitor reception, pass through the open gateway to the left.
Follow the path down, and take the first path on the right.
Continue ahead to the end of this path and turn left.
The entrance to the shop is on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Shop (Oast House Shop)
- Access into the shop is via a step.
- There is 1 step, which is unmarked, with no handrails.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 82cm.
- The majority of aisle widths are under 150cm.
- Some flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
- There is step-free level access around some of the shop.
- Access around the shop is via steps.
- There may be background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is stepped access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 93cm.
- There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.
