Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, magnifying glass and activity sheets.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Play Area)
- Follow the path beyond the clocktower near the visitor reception.
The play area is on the left. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, gravel, muddy and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located beyond clocktower on the left.
- Access into the area is via steps and a steep ramp/slope (which bypasses any steps).
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are 3 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings.
- Footpaths are not available in all of the outdoor space.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- The slight slopes are found at various points along the pathways.
- Bench seating is available.

- There is a route around the play equipment which is firm and even, but is less than 150cm wide.
