Access Guide
Summary

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and sunglasses.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: mobility scooters. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Herbaceous and Dahlia Gardens)
- There is a long path leading from the visitor reception to the Herbaceous and Dahlia Gardens.
After exiting the visitor reception, follow the path ahead until you reach the house.
Turn right when you reach the house and follow the Winter Garden path via the steep slope until you reach the gardens.
There is an alternative route around the Winter Gardens which bypasses the steep slope, but this is a longer distance. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces (Herbaceous Garden)
- This information is for the access point located at the southern point of the garden.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass.
- Footpaths are not available in all of the outdoor space.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Outdoor Spaces (Dahlia Gardens)
- This information is for the access point located off the Winter Garden path.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The width of the gap is 80cm.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and block paving.
