Hikes and Trails (Ventnor Walking Trail)

  • The trail is approximately 2.5 miles long.
  • The route begins at a car park in Downs Lane, near to the Ventnor Radar Station.
    The initial path is downhill towards Ventnor.
    At times this path is very steep. Once in Ventnor, after a brief time on a road, the path turns eastward and into woods before rising to the downland.
    The path climbs steeply to the top of the hill before turning back towards the car park.
  • The trail is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, loose chippings, grass and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients and very uneven surfaces.
