Hikes and Trails (Car Park To Coastgaurd Station)

  • The walk is approximately 1.4 miles.
  • This route starts along a tarmac path, past the shop until you pass the gate.
    Continue along the coast following the path which soon turns to gravel then eventually turning to a grassed area as you reach the lifeguard station, from here loop back around the grassed area to re-join the path back to the car park.
    This walk takes you to the viewpoint of the vile, the route can be extended out to the vile itself during low tide only with a very steep decent and uneven surfaces to overcome.
  • The walk is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, grass, gravel and mud.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients and very uneven surfaces.
  • These are found in the following areas: throughout the walk.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is not clearly signposted.
  • The route has handheld maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.

    • The dimensions of the facility are 436cm x 300cm.

  • This toilet is approximately 50m from the nearest Blue Badge bay.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 77cm.
  • The door has a locking handle (with a RADAR key to access).
  • Internally the door has a high colour contrast.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 133cm x 210cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 71cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a spatula flush on the transfer side.
