The access points to the area are located to the south-east and west of the car park, as well as on public footpaths around the perimeter of the site.

The walk is approximately 1.5 miles.
From the car park, near the notice board, follow the Octavia Hill sign down a narrow wooded path. Follow the Octavia Hill Trail waymarkers through the woods. The trees begin to thin out and on your left there're open fields. Turn right and begin climbing up the hill (fairly steep). From the viewpoint at the top of the hill, follow the waymarkers and head downhill until you reach the Robertson Memorial. Continue down the marked path, along the fence (uneven path), and then turn right back through the woods and into the car park.
The walk is open 24 hours.
None of the paths are lit at night.
The route includes the following surfaces: loose chippings, compacted gravel and mud.
Some of the route contains steep gradients, steps and very uneven surfaces.
These are found in the following areas: all along the route (steep gradients and very uneven surfaces). There are 5 steps, with no handrails, located to the west of the site, around 3/4 of the way round the route.
