Visitor Reception (Welcome Information Centre)

Entrance (Windpump)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the base of the Windpump.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There are double manual doors which are permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 108cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.

Attraction / Exhibit (Windpump)

  • The majority of walkway widths are under 120cm.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise here.
  • The exhibits do not have hearing assistance systems.
  • There is no step-free level access around the area.
  • Levels 1, 2 and 3 and the outside viewing platform on level 4 require the use of steps.

Toilet with Adaptations

  • This toilet is located opposite the car park.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 26m from the car park.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
