Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • Equipment cannot be borrowed or hired.
  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
  • Umbrellas are available to borrow from the welcome hut.

Route to (the Grounds)

  • With the welcome hut on the left, follow the path down through open gates.
    Ignore the path on the right to the shop and continue left of the shop where the path bends right down a slope through open gates.
    Continue along the path past the toilets on the right and the house on the left.
    Turn left down a step-free steep ramp/slope to access the Ha-Ha Lawn and the lower ground floor of the house.
    Continuing straight on will lead to the Perimeter walk.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are concrete, paving stones and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located to the right of the house.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
  • There is a steep slope leading to the bottom of the outdoor space.
  • There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
  • The compacted stone section of the path continues to the bottom of the meadow.
    You will need to retrace your steps back to the start.
    A grass path up a steep gradient completes the circular path.

Hikes and Trails

  • The trail is approximately 0.5 miles long.
  • Begin at the end of the house drive
    Go through an open gate down a compacted stone path.
    Follow this path around the edge of the meadow.
    The compacted stone section of the path ends at the southeast corner of the meadow.
    You will need to retrace your steps back to the start.
    A grass path completes the circular walk up a steep hill.
  • The trail is not open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients.
  • These are found in the following areas: after the gated access point to the bottom of the outdoor space and from the end of the compacted stone path up a steep gradient. The final section is a steep gradient up a grass path.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is not clearly signposted.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
