Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Servant's Hall Tea Room)
- The tea room is located straight ahead after admissions, then left into the main courtyard, then on the left.
- The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located to the left as you enter the courtyard.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 97cm.
- There is a second manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 95cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a tea room which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, takeaway cutlery, a portable card machine for payment, large-handled mugs and large-handled cutlery.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- The counter is 85cm high.

Ramp or Slope (to Additional Seating Area)

Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located in the courtyard next to the tea room.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There are tables.
- Some chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are not available.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 76cm.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to gravel.
Entrance (Courtyard Toilets)
- The entrance surveyed is located in the courtyard.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There is 1 step, which is unmarked, with a handrail on the left going up.
- The step is not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 96cm.
Standard Toilet (Courtyard)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 73cm.
- Internally the door has a high colour contrast.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- The gender neutral toilet was surveyed.
- There is an ambulant cubicle available with a horizontal grab rail on the right and a vertical grab rail on the left.
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
