Route to (The Menagerie Garden)

  • From the gardens entrance point, turn right and follow the path around the side of Nostell House.
    Continue along the path, which crosses the rear of the house.
    Go through the gate across the path, then take the left path.
    This is steep, uneven and muddy in places.
    Cross the bridge over the lake and continue along the path.
    You will arrive at a stone marker which has the name of the garden on.
    Take the right hand path and follow it up the steep incline.
    Continue until you arrive at a gate across the path.
    This is the entrance to the garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, gravel, muddy and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located beyond the bridge across Middle Lake.
  • Access into the area is via steep ramps/slopes.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The access points to the area are located at the entrance to the Menagerie Garden.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens away from you (push).
  • The gate is not self-closing.
  • The width of the gap is 90cm.
  • The path through the garden is uneven in places.
