Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Walled Garden)

  • Exit the visitor reception, turn left and continue over the raised walkway to Market Place. There is a steep slope to bypass the steps at the end of the raised walkway.
    Keep left and continue along the walls to the entrance to the walled garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and wood.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
  • The visitor shuttle takes visitors to the Market Place area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located on the left side of Market Place.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
  • The width of the gap is 98cm.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: a grassed play area.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel and compact earth.
  • Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
  • The slight slopes are on the main paths leading to the rear of the garden.
