Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders and activity sheets.

- The chapel has a stair climber to overcome the steps to the entrance.
Route to (the Walled Garden)
- Exit the visitor reception, turn left and continue over the raised walkway to Market Place. There is a steep slope to bypass the steps at the end of the raised walkway.
Keep left and continue along the walls to the entrance to the walled garden. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and wood.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
- The visitor shuttle takes visitors to the Market Place area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located on the left side of Market Place.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 98cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a grassed play area.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The slight slopes are on the main paths leading to the rear of the garden.
