Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.

- There are charges to borrow a tramper.
Route to (the Courtyard Café)
- From the visitor trailer reception go straight ahead down the slope.
Continue to the right of the first building, going between a set of buildings.
The café will be on the left when you reach the courtyard. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel and cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located at the front of the café.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are tables and picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are not available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 69cm.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 69cm.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 72cm.
- The surface height of the lowest table is 71cm.
- The surface height of the highest table is 75cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: some of the chairs and some of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to cobbles.
Entrance (Courtyard Café)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the café.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 80cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery, takeaway cutlery, a portable card machine for payment and large-handled mugs.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- There is a counter over 85cm high without a tray rail.
- The counter is 92cm high.
- There is not a section of the counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- There is step-free level access around the seating area.
- There are coffee tables, tables, armchairs and chairs without armrests available in the seating area.
- The seating area does not have: a priority table and a mixture of chairs with and without armrests.

Entrance (Courtyard Toilet Block)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the toilet block in the courtyard.
- There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
- The slight slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 88cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Toilet with Adaptations (Courtyard - Accessible - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located to the right of the café and bookshop.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- This toilet is approximately 1m from the courtyard toilet block entrance.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 85cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 191cm x 281cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 97cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a push button flush on the transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: toilet roll holder and wash basin.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: hand dryer.

- The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 63cm.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
