Access Guide
Summary

- The most accessible entrance has a slight ramp/slope and a gate.
- This entrance is located off car park 2.
- There is not a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- The following are also available: seating and on site-transport.
- This site is not part of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- The nearest toilet with adaptations for disabled people is located in the courtyard, to the left of the tea room entrance. View information about this toilet (new tab).

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair and cycles. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.
- You can borrow these from the visitor centre. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- There are charges to borrow the cycles.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Playground)
- Head to the right from the Blue Badge parking area, then turn left.
Follow the path down to car park 2, and the entrance to the playground is on the left. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located off car park 2.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 130cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, grass and gravel.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight slopes in most of the area, with steeper slopes towards the rear.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Playground
View
- There are no firm and even routes over 150cm wide round the play equipment.
- The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, climbing, balancing, sensory (visual, audible and or tactile).
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located in the Play Area.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are not available.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 75cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass.
