Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: mobility scooters and a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Shops)
- From the Visitor Reception (car park) continue through the car park along the path towards the Hall and Courtyard.
Go through the Courtyard and the Gift Shop is on the left and the Bookshop is in the left corner. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Shop (Secondhand Bookshop)
- There is step-free level access into the shop.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 147cm.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around the shop.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- The counter does not have a hearing assistance system.
- Services/facilities available in the shop include: a member of staff to provide assistance.
- The bookshop operates on a donation basis.
Shop (Gift Shop)
- Access into the shop is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 100cm.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around some of the shop.
- Access around the shop is via a slight ramp/slope.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 99cm.
- There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The checkout area is placed in front of a patterned background .
