Public Transport

- This site does not have a car park.
- Nearby parking includes: an open air public car park.
- There is not a designated drop-off point.
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located in the car park.
- Access into the area is via a step.
- There is 1 step, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are not available.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 70cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to compacted earth and grass.
Route to (Countryside)
- Walk away from the car park and past the Cwm Idwal Visitor Centre then immediately turn right and follow the stone path uphill. You are now at the start of the countryside area.
- The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the left of the Cwm Idwal Visitor Centre.
- Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: farmland and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, cobbled and grass.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- The slopes and steps are located throughout the outdoor area.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have gates which may create obstacles for some users.
Hikes and Trails (Ogwen Cottage to Llyn Idwal)
- The trail is approximately 1.2 miles.
- Keeping to the left head uphill from the Cwm Idwal Visitor Centre, cross the wooden bridge and follow the stone path. Stay to the main path until you reach the lake of Llyn Idwal. Return by the same route.
- The hike is open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, cobbled, gravel, wood and mud.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients, steps and very uneven surfaces.
- These are found in the following areas: throughout the trail.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
- There are gates towards the start and the end of the trail.
